Pacific College Chicago Campus Receives California Acupuncture Board Approval
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine's Chicago campus is proud to announce full approval by the California Acupuncture Board. This approval allows graduates of Pacific's Chicago campus to take the California State licensing examination in acupuncture and Oriental medicine and to practice in California. . It also demonstrates that Pacific College's curriculum meets the requirements of a state widely regarded as having the most comprehensive training standards for acupuncturists. Earning a California acupuncture license gives Pacific's graduates access to the most populous state in which to build their practice. Pacific is the only college of Traditional Chinese medicine in the Midwest to have received this approval.
Pacific College of Oriental Medicine was founded in 1986 and has additional campuses in San Diego and New York. It is the largest college of Oriental Medicine in the nation, and has received numerous prestigious honors including being the recipient of a National Institutes of Health research grant, and being named one of the best colleges of Traditional Chinese Medicine in the country by TCM World Newspaper. Pacific College is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and its graduates are eligible for state licensure and national certification.
As part of its internship-training program, Pacific College operates low-cost clinic open to the public, as well as internships at clinics and hospitals in the Chicago, San Diego and New York area. The college is also the publisher of the national newspaper Oriental Medicine and sponsor of the annual Pacific Symposium, a continuing education event for licensed acupuncturists and other health care professionals.
