Emperor's College Alumna Starrie Lowe Appointed Staff Acupuncturist at UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center

Starrie Lowe - Copyright – Stock Photo / Register Mark Santa Monica, CA (August 22, 2012)Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine, one of the most distinguished acupuncture schools in the nation, is pleased to announce that Emperor's College alumna Starrie Lowe, LAc, was appointed staff acupuncturist at UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center.

Prior to her appointment, Lowe had been supervising clinical interns from Emperor's College at UCLA's Arthur Ashe Center for 12 years.

"As a third generation acupuncturist, I have an unwavering desire to contribute to the future of this medicine. Moving forward in serving the Arthur Ashe Center's student population as their acupuncturist on staff is truly an honor," said Starrie Lowe, LAc. "As a supervisor at Ashe, I had a tremendous appreciation for the dedication Emperor's College interns demonstrated. Throughout the years I had the privilege of observing the exemplary treatments they were giving to UCLA students."

Acupuncture health services at UCLA

Emperor's College formed a partnership with the UCLA Arthur Ashe Student Health & Wellness Center in 1999 so that clinical interns could provide treatments to undergraduate and graduate students at UCLA. Emperor's College was the first acupuncture school in the country to offer acupuncture treatments within a university student health facility.

"We are delighted that our alumna Starrie Lowe will continue the acupuncture health services at UCLA," said Yun Kim, CEO at Emperor's College. "Lowe is a first-class practitioner and a health educator who will help UCLA students become more knowledgeable about natural ways of healing and take charge of their own wellness."

Starrie Lowe received her master's degree of traditional Oriental medicine at Emperor's College in 2000. As a licensed practitioner, she is a member of Torrance Memorial Medical Center's HealthLinks Therapeutic Bodywork Division. She also volunteers at Torrance Memorial's Speakers' Bureau and sits on the advisory committee of the Graziadio's Health and Wellness Center at Torrance Memorial.
