The mission of the Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences is
to meet the needs of the applied health science student and community
through education and research. The school emphasizes excellence, learning,
relationships, innovation, entrepreneurship and service to help achieve
its mission.
History
The acupuncture program at the Michener Institute was established in
1997. In 2000, the institute's acupuncture program became the first in
Canada to be granted candidate status by the Accreditation Commission
for Acupuncture and Oriental Mediicne. It graduated its first class of
acupuncture students in 2002.
Programs Offered
The Michener Institute offers a four-year, full-time diploma degree program
in acupuncture. The school also has a professional relationship with Mount
Sinai Hospital in Toronto.
