Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Mission Statement

The mission of Yo San University of Traditional Chinese Medicine is:

  • To educate students to become the highest quality practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine and the Taoist healing arts;
  • To be the leader in the development of a complementary medical model; and
  • To be a community-based resource center for the advancement of balanced living.

History

Yo San University was founded by two brothers, Daoshing and Maoshing Ni, in 1989, with a beginning class of eight students. The university now has more than 150 patients and offers more than 15 courses.

Yo San's program was granted candidate status by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 1991. The program was accredited in 1993, and reaccredited in 1996 and 2003.

Programs Offered

Yo San University awards a master's degree in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine. The program is four years in length, and is designed to emphasize all five branches of TCM: acupuncture, herbology, massage, nutrition and qigong. Yo San also offers certificate programs in qi development and mien shiang.
